Night Class Mission

At Night Class, we understand the challenges and pressures of medical school. Our organization was born out of a tragic incident, where a student, struggling with the rigorous demands, took her own life. We aim to create a supportive and nurturing environment for students facing similar circumstances.

Our mission is to provide user friendly resources, guidance, and a sense of community to help students thrive academically, mentally, and emotionally. We believe that no student should feel alone or overwhelmed in their journey towards becoming a medical professional.

Through Night Class, we aim to ensure that all students have access to the support they need to succeed. Join us in our mission to make medical school a more compassionate and understanding place.

Meet your Course Instructor Dr. Florestan 〰️

Humble beginnings starting off repeating intro to chemistry 3 times in community college. Dr. Florestan had difficulties in work/school balance as he often had 1-2 jobs throughout his undergraduate course.  By the time he reached medical school, his attention was not divided by his occupation.  He seized every moment to study even if it meant returning to the library after his exams on exam day.

In retrospect, noncompetitive commitment to who you want to become is all that is required as a student.  Medicine was always the plan-A, even when he was making C's.

When returning back to his Alma mater medical school after graduation, he was tasked to teach first year medicine.  It was a tormenting responsibility to see his students do well, therefore resulting in offering additional resources beyond his occupation at the medical school.

There is nothing more gratifying than to have a student teach you something that you taught them a long time ago and they are still using that to this day on their exams and in practice.

Practicing medicine is an extraordinary thing.  To be able to have answers within minutes that patient's have sought after for decades and to be able to act on those so quickly is incredible.  The different approaches of practicing are equivalent to working a Rubik's cube, and can be done correctly in so many different ways.

However, one comes to realize that you are treating people not diseases and people need far more than just prescriptions as you may be the greatest and at times only positive influence in their lives.

There is no greater accomplishment than becoming a parent.  Occupations such as firefighters, lawyers, police officers or even doctors are quite heroic; but coming home to children happy, fed, growing and feeling safe, trumps any heroic feat attainable.

All children deserve to have parents that are fiercely in love with who they are, as they are. Its a Wholesome feeling to always know that even if it’s been a bad day, you are still inspiring your children.
